Through the generosity of community supporters, Atlantic Cape Community College raised nearly $6,000 during its GivingTuesday fundraising campaign, which will go to help students in need.
“We are grateful for the generosity of more than 50 donors that helped us to raise $5,716 this year,” said Maria Kellett, dean of the Cape May County campus and associate director of the Atlantic Cape Foundation. “GivingTuesday continues to be a successful community fundraising campaign for Atlantic Cape Foundation. Since 2016, we have raised $29,688 for students attending Atlantic Cape Community College.”
GivingTuesday in an international effort that began in 2012 and has raised billions of dollars worldwide for critical causes.
This year, a total of 52 donors contributed funds for Atlantic Cape’s campaign in one of four areas: baseball field renovations, food pantry, scholarships, or area of greatest need.
The scholarships and emergency funds distributed through this effort help Atlantic Cape students pay for tuition, cover the costs of fees and supplies needed for classes, and even help pay for housing and food.
Funds for the food pantry will go toward purchasing items to stock the pantries located at Atlantic Cape’s three campuses, which are available to students whenever they are in need.
The Atlantic Cape Baseball team is also fundraising this year to build a new field at the Mays Landing Campus, an effort that began last spring.
GivingTuesday will return on Nov. 29, 2022.
