Degrees and Certificates

Program Overview

At the Academy of Culinary Arts, you can work toward a degree, take specialized courses, or just develop basic job skills. We offer accredited degree programs and certificate programs, that you can take on a full- or part-time basis. Full-time classes meet 7 a.m.-noon or 12:30-5:30 p.m. In addition, the college's continuing education division offers a two-month & eight-month non-credit culinary training program. All programs are designed to prepare you for the real-world challenges of the food and beverage industry. We can help you construct a program that's right for your goal.

 

Associate in Applied Science degree programs

Degree programs feature hands-on and academic training, plus an externship for real work experience in the U.S. or in Europe. After graduation, you can seek a job or transfer to a four-year college. You choose from three tracks:
Option: Students who have degrees or don't need a college degree take only the culinary or baking program courses and finish with a certificate in 2 years.  The one-year certificate programs offer the basics for entry-level positions so you can quickly get into the workplace.

Culinary Training Program

If you're eager to get started right away in an entry-level job in cooking, the non-credit Certified Fundamentals Cook program can position you to succeed. This career preparation program offers hands-on courses that focus on the mastery of cooking principles and practical techniques. It will also prepare you for the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification and the Certified Fundamentals Cook credential. Upon successful completion of the exam, students receive a nationally recognized certification.
