Dual Credit Program

What is Dual Credit?

Dual enrollment programming provides an opportunity for high school students to earn college credit by taking college-level courses while simultaneously earning their high school diploma.

Dual credit courses are taught by Atlantic and Cape May County high school teachers who meet college-level educational standards. These high school teachers work closely with Atlantic Cape faculty liaisons to ensure the academic rigor the students exhibit in their high school course is equivalent to Atlantic Cape’s college course.  Upon dual credit course completion, you receive a letter grade that is then recorded on your official Atlantic Cape Community College transcript.

Once you are enrolled in a dual credit course at your high school, apply to Atlantic Cape using the Early College Application. You will receive an acceptance letter with your student ID number and login credentials. The deadline to apply to Atlantic Cape for students who opt to earn college credit for the 2024-25 school year is JANUARY 10, 2025.

REGISTER

STEP 2: REGISTER for dual credit. On November 18, 2024, registration for dual credit courses will open. At that time, Atlantic Cape will send you an email instructing you to log into your Atlantic Cape "Self Service" student account via Atlantic Cape Connect. You will see a list of courses that you are currently enrolled in at your high school that are eligible for dual credit. Select the courses for which you'd like to earn college credit, and click register. The deadline to register for dual credit for the 2024-25 school year is March 14, 2025. Follow our step-by-step registration Self-Service directions to aid you in registering for your pre-planned courses.

EARN

STEP 3EARN college credit. To receive college credit through Atlantic Cape's dual enrollment program, students only pay $66.00 per credit -- nearly a 60% savings! Students will receive dual credit if they earn a C or better in their high school dual credit course. Credit earned may be applied toward a certificate or degree at Atlantic Cape.
